- 12-6 ...unfortunately for Liang, he pots the brown but misses the blue with the rest...and leaves it over the middle pocket for Ronnie to clear up and nick the frame...
- 11-6 ...O'Sullivan moves into a five-point lead, but two sloppy shots on yellow and green leave him out of position and he misses the brown...
- 11-6 O'Sullivan makes 20 before failing to free a red off the pack...he plays safe...
- 11-6 Liang makes a good 53 before his effort on a tough red to the corner fails...eight reds remaining, plenty of points to play for as Ronnie comes to the table...
- 11-6 ...A superb long red into the yellow pocket when O'Sullivan thought he had got safe begins another break for Liang...he's up to 45
- 11-6 Liang makes 66 in his second effort after Ronnie had missed a red into the corner...the frame looks beyond the two-time champ as he comes to the table for a bit of practice...a couple of shots later and he has conceded...
- 11-5 Liang makes an opening 12 before missing a long blue to the green pocket...

- - Hello; welcome to our coverage of the final session of this quarter-final...the crowd are starting to fill up the Crucible...we'll be underway at around 7.10pm UK time...
- 11-5 Two breaks of 30-odd end the session with another frame to O'Sullivan's name. He is only two from victory with one session left to play - it will take a comeback of epic proportions for Liang to go through from here.
- 10-5 Liang given a chance as O'Sullivan misses a simple red using his rest... there are awkward reds at the bottom of the table... but he misses a long one at the top that he should put down! He has 52 points but here comes Ronnie... he cannot get going and Liang wraps it up to finally win a frame today.
- 10-4 Six in a row for Ronnie as he falls just short of a ton. He slaps the table as you might a jovial thigh and heads out for a few seconds, probably to have a wee. I'm just saying.
- 9-4 Upon their return O'Sullivan is straight on to another break, building it up towards 50 and beyond... the frame is safe... the 100-mark passes... and he ends with 138! A total clearance. Liang disappears somewhere to clear his thoughts. The Ronnie express is going full steam and potting plenty of balls along the way.
- 8-4 O'Sullivan blasts two half-centuries either side of a terrible miss from the cue of his Chinese opponent. He completely misjudged a pot to the bottom-right corner - the pain on his face shows what he is going through. The match is slipping away as we head into the mid-session interval.
- 7-4 Liang yet to find his rhythm today, needing snookers on the third frame. After the blue goes down he tries to stick the pink behind the black, but cannot - and O'Sullivan pots it long to win another.
- 6-4 The Essex potter moves two frames ahead after seeing that break flower into something beautiful - well, a 67.
- 5-4 O'Sullivan takes the lead from Liang with a 76 run and is building another decent break in the second frame of the day.
- 4-4 The score is tied at four apiece after the first spell. It will be an intriguing battle for the semi-finals between the Chinese hopeful and 'Rocket' Ronnie.

- 4-4 Liang eventually misses...and concedes the frame...4-4 it is...very interesting session.
- 4-3 ...Ronnie makes 70 before again missing a red along the bottom rail...but Liang comes to the table needing a snooker...we should be 4-4, unless the youngster can find something special...
- 4-3 A very optimistic red cut into the corner is missed by Liang, handing Ronnie a much-needed chance to get back on level terms in this final frame of the session...
- 4-3 ...again, the mistake is fully punished...another fine frame-clinching break of 89 seals the frame...the youngster is back into the lead...
- 3-3 Ronnie doesn't look best-pleased in his chair at the moment as Liang pounces on a slightly loose safety to fire a long red into the corner...the youngster is 42 ahead with 51 remaining...
- 3-3 Liang makes 22 before being forced to play safe after an unlucky split from the pack...O'Sullivan is 20-23 down, but plays a fine safety...
- 3-3 ...and Liang makes Ronnie pay fully for the mistake on the red, as he fires in a fine 104 up to the pink...Ronnie looks frustrated in his chair...
- 3-2 ...Ronnie has clicked up a gear...24...all reds and blacks...stemming from a fine long red...but the break ends with a tough red along the cushion...
- 3-2 The rapid berak-building goes on...O'Sullivan moves into the lead for the first time in this quarter-final with a break of 71...ended when the black just stayed in the jaws...
- 2-2 The players are back after their break...Ronnie is immediately back amongst the balls...
- 2-2 O'Sullivan makes a frame-clinching clearance of 58 to ensure he goes into the mid-session interval 2-2...he looks very relaxed as he goes off for a 15 minute break...
- 2-1 Liang makes another attacking 26 at the start of the fourth frame...he eventually has to play safe, but it is another good contribution from the youngster...
- 2-1 ...and Ronnie makes him pay fully with a 109...high-quality stuff from these two at the start of this match...
- 2-0 Huge error from the youngster in the third frame though...he goes for a very tough long red, with the white nestled right up against the top cushion...cannoning the reds all over the table...
- 2-0 ...and 49 points later, the youngster has a 2-0 lead. Ronnie has barely had a shot as yet - and those he has been offered, he has been off-target with. Interesting start.
- 1-0 Liang makes another impressive 48 before running out of position...he still takes on a very tough red in to the yellow pocket...but misses. However, Ronnie goes in-off with the white in trying to capitalise, and Liang comes back to the table with a chance to seal a second frame...
- 1-0 ...the break ends at 80, Ronnie concedes...opening frame to the young Chinese player, and no sign of a hangover following his dramatic win last night...
- 0-0 Liang has made a good start here...his break is up to 42...
