- 11-10 ...After a short bout of safety on the pack of reds, Maguire leaves Perry a tempter...which he does really well to roll in...50 points later he has a 28-point lead, although he misses a tricky red into the middle...

- 9-8 Fantastic comeback from Maguire as he recovers from 63-0 down to nick the frame with a 70 clearance to the black...the Scot shows how much that means with a clenched fist as he disappears for a toilet break...
- 8-8 ...the break ends at 59 as Perry over-cuts a red into the corner after going into the pack...but Maguire goes in-off with the cue-ball with his very next shot,,,,
- 8-8 ...Perry is in on the balls in the 17th frame...he has made 51, although the pack still needs to be split...
- 8-8 ...Maguire seals the frame with a fine blue and pink....Perry looks disgusted in his chair...he felt well positioned to win that one...
- 8-7 ...Perry hits back superbly with 49 before he gets a bad bounce off the cushion from final brown to blue when well set to pinch the frame...the white ball ends almost touching the blue...safety the only option...
- 8-7 Maguire makes 55 in his opening effort...the break ends when he can't get on a red from the split...plenty of work to do as Perry comes to the table

- - Hello; welcome to our coverage of the final session of this quarter-final...the crowd are starting to fill up the Crucible...we'll be underway at around 7.10pm UK time...
- - ...and that's it for the evening....the referee tells the crowd that the players will take their session break now, to allow them longer to prepare for the final session this evening...
- 8-7 ...yes he does! A fine little break of 22 clinches the frame...
- 7-7 Maguire makes 30, but jaws one of the two tough reds in the green pocket...can Perry finish the frame off and move ahead once more?
- 7-7 Perry makes 27 as he opens up a 44-2 lead...but he misses a red into the middle, and Maguire is back...tough red up near the brown though...he'll have to think about dislodging that if he is to clinch the frame at this visit...
- 7-7 ...Maguire can't get his snooker, despite the balls being favourably situtated, and Perry levels things again...looks like this one is going all the way...they return tonight to finish off...
- 7-6 Perry makes 52 from his chance...he hasn't quite clinched the frame...Maguire comes to the table needing one snooker...
- 7-6 ...It looks like the pressure is beginning to tell...both players miss relatively simple efforts early in the frame...

- 6-5 Maguire takes the lead in the match for the first time, thanks to a break of 82...Perry had made an earlier 44, but Maguire hit back...
- 5-5 Maguire moves 46-21 in front...Perry can't fightback, and Maguire seals it to level the scores.
- 5-4 Perry goes back in front as Maguire concedes, needing snookers with one red remaining...Perry leads...

- 4-0 Perry looks well set in the fourth, but he misses a black off the spot to end a break of 30...but he goes on to win the tactical exchange to extend his lead even further...
- 3-0 Fine, fine stuff from Perry...a wonderful break of 121 takes him into a 3-0 lead...not much Maguire could have done about that!
- 2-0 Another half-century...68 from Perry, and he has a 2-0 lead...Maguire isn't used to being behind in this tournament...how will he react to this fast start from "Gentleman" Joe?
