- 5-11 Robertson wins the final frame of the session to close the gap further to six, via (finally) some extravagant potting and one blue in particular which takes the crowd's breath away. He screwed the cue back across the table with incredible side, a shot I would swear is against the laws of physics had I not seen it with my own green eyes. Although Maguire should still go through to the quarter-finals, he looks dejected slumped in his chair.
- 4-11 A 98 clearance from Robertson in the penultimate frame of the day leaves him 'only' seven adrift - but at least he will now take the match into a third session.
- 3-11 Both players miss chances, Maguire in particular guilty with a red. Australian Robertson closes it out to win his third frame. Who knows: two more and the match outcome will not be as clear-cut as it first seemed...
- 2-11 Maguire gets to 40 before missing and allowing his rival a chance. However Robertson cannot take it and Maguire cleans up on his next visit.

Maguire digs the cue ball out of the top-left pocket as he hopes for a lucky fall of the balls and is rewarded. Robertson has played this frame well and must be gutted when, following more awkward safeties, he goes nine frames down.
- 0-8 A drawn-out first frame of the evening as the players play safe. With one red left at the bottom of the table the score stands at 31 apiece, Maguire snookering Robertson on the colours in the baulk.

- 0-4 One rash shot from Robertson and MAGUIRE takes full toll with a superb 131 clearance. 4-0 at the mid-session interval.
- 0-3 The Victorian responds with 24 but a run of 23 from MAGUIRE means it's 3-0.
- 0-2 A run of 54 sees MAGUIRE in control of frame three.
- 0-2 The Melbourne potter hits back with 21 but after a prolonged spell of safety before the colours, MAGUIRE wraps up the frame 67-45.
- 0-1 Robertson leads 37-0 in the second frame but MAGUIRE is amongst the balls and after a lengthy safety exchange before the colours, takes it 67-45.
- 0-1 Anthony Hamilton tipped Stephen MAGUIRE to lift his first World Championship and the in-form Scot takes the opening frame against Neil Robertson after a break of 56.
