  • 7-10   There it is! Finally, having spurned a hatful of chances Joe PERRY seals the win and moves into the second round - where he'll face Stuart BINGHAM. Thanks for joining me!
  • 7-9   What a tense frame, and it's DOTT who emerges the winner. Both players had plenty of chances, but the Scotsman held his nerve to stay in the match.
  • 6-9   Oooooohhhh. PERRY sent the cue ball into the middle pocket, but DOTT missed the chance to capitalise - his attempt at a red wobbling out. PERRY will surely seal it here.
  • 6-9   PERRY misses a red which would surely have meant the match. The two players are now exchanging safety shots.
  • 6-9   PERRY goes 9-6 ahead with a break of 88. Wonderful stuff, and he's just a frame away now.
  • 6-8   PERRY is playing very very well here. He's past a half-century and manipulating the reds expertly. He needs one more red and a colour to leave DOTT requiring snookers.
  • 6-8   Oooohhhh. DOTT misses a fairly straightforward red and PERRY capitalises. The reds are mostly grouped around the pink however, so this will take some break to win the frame at this visit.
  • 6-8   PERRY falls short of a century break, but the frame is his. He's just two frames away from the second round now.
  • 6-7   PERRY comes back from the interval in good form. He races away with a break of 68...there could be another century on the cards here.
  • 6-7   PERRY gets amongst the balls and takes a 7-6 lead into the mid-session interval. This match is wonderfully poised.
  • 6-6   DOTT finishes with a masterful break of 126 - his best ever at the Crucible, and the match is poised at 6-6.
  • 5-6   DOTT will square the match here. He's in the balls, with a break of 94 so far. He's taken two pinks, so his potential break is 145.
  • 5-6   Still scoreless in frame 12. Safety first for both players so far.
  • 5-6   DOTT should have won the frame there. He was in, but made a rudementary mistake and left himself snookered behind the pink. But he gets another chance, sinks a great blue and needs a really tricky pink to make it 6-5...well played!
  • 4-6   Mistake from DOTT, who is forced to play safe. PERRY responds with a wonderful snooker...DOTT escapes. Tense stuff.
  • 4-6   PERRY gets the first bite, but DOTT now has a fabulous chance to pull back to 5-6. A couple of lovely, crisp long pots see him nearing the colours. Two reds left.
  • 4-6   Quite a start for PERRY, who finishes with a smooth break of 104. Not bad for a statement of intent.
  • 4-5   PERRY moves to 64, and a two-frame lead is his to lose now. DOTT needs two snookers.
  • 4-5   DOTT has an early chance, but a miss lets in PERRY. He's on a break of 22 so far, with the reds well placed. A fine long red keeps him in the balls.
  • 4-5   Good morning and welcome to eurosport.yahoo.com's continued LIVE!! coverage of Graeme Dott against Joe Perry - who has a 5-4 overnight lead.
  • 4-4   Joe PERRY has hit back emphatically by storming to take the ninth frame in double-quick time and go into the break 5-4 up. Join us again at 1900BST for the conclusion of DING v FU and the start of MURPHY v HAROLD. See you then!
  • 4-4   Graeme DOTT looked pumped up as that black dropped in, and he nails the loose red form distance to open the scoring in the final frame of the session.
  • 4-4   DOTT gets off the final black and sits up perfectly for the yellow. The pink is still up at that end of the table too. Yellow is down, then green and brown. It's 50-58 as he faces the blue. He drops that in and goes for the high-pace long pot on the pink... He gets it but it's gone past the black. It's a tough cut, but he gets it!
  • 3-4   That little bout of hit-and-hope could just save DOTT's frame. Another red and a black and it's 25-58 with two reds left.
  • 3-4   DOTT hams up another safety shot, this time hitting the pink, up at the arc end of the table, that he was supposed to be hiding behind. PERRY strikes in red and then taps the white behind. DOTT hits the black! Joe PERRY though about playing on, but sends it back for DOTT to try again. This time he hits the other side of the black. We're looking at the forfeit once again! Again PERRY considers taking it on, but sends it back. This time DOTT blasts away in frustration... and flukily pots a red, to many ironic cheers!
  • 3-4   PEERY is 36-0 up as DOTT tries to thinly slice a red into the pack and send the white safe, but the red misses the cluseter and hover over the corenr. Foruntately for him, the blue is on it's spot and directly blocking the red.
  • 3-4   DOTT goes for the safe option and hits the nearest red, knowing full well that PERRY could clear up from here anyway. He's smart enough to knock it onto PERRY's bad side though, and DOTT is back on the table immediately to pot, but he rushes it and it rattles against the jaws of the corner pocket! This is not DOTT's finest hour.
  • 3-4   A tight opening five minutes ends with PERRY splitting up the reds and opening the potting. He snookers DOTT behind the yellow, and after two minutes of deliberation he fouls with a miss. On the retake, he misses again! One more and he forfeits the frame...
  • 3-4   PERRY leaps into a 28-0 lead, but runs out of ideas agianst a tricky break of the reds. DOTT briefly gets a run on the table, but succeeds only in helping PERRY on his way to regaining his one-frame lead. He'll be hoping to open up that gap, as everytime he has gone ahead so far DOTT has pegged him back.
  • 3-3   After a rest break and a "GO ON GRAEME!" from a rather excited member of the audience, Graeme DOTT gets the seventh frame of this intriguing encounter underway. He will be eager to banish last year's humiliation, while Joe PERRY will have seen enough to know that he can win this match and perhaps match if not better his single quarter-final here at the Crucible.
  • 3-3   Joe PERRY stays seated as DOTT emerges to clear the remaining reds. The green is blocking the yellow in the far corner, but he goes for the long pot... Rattles off the jaws of the pocket! So close. PERRY steps up, and he can snatch this frame... He misses too! DOTT returns, and this time pots the hardest shot of the three! He misses the green, but the frame is already his.
  • 3-2   Graeme DOTT closes the gap to just eight points. He hands the table back over to PERRY in a real state, with colours up against various cushions and reds scattered. They look set for some safety mind games, in which you have to feel DOTT wil come off the better.
  • 2-3   PERRY goes into a 38 point lead, but he misses a tricky cut on a red at a critical time and DOTT follows up to get off the mark and mount a comeback.
  • 2-3   PERRY doesn't disappoint as he pulls away to register a rather good 102 break, and regain the lead in this match.
  • 2-2   DOTT attempts a safety shot that misses the yellow as it comes back off the top cushion, and PERRY takes advantage by potting a red to get going. He's in the middle of a nasty cluster, but gets over the top for another red-black pot.
  • 2-2   The players are back out and Joe PERRY gets the fifth frame underway.
  • 2-2   DOTT pulls the match back to 2-2 and the players go in for their mid-session interval.
  • 1-2   DOTT is picking off the pack of reds surrounding the pink well. This is Graeme DOTT at his dour, clinical best. Casually sinking ball after ball and not looking pleased about it!
  • 1-2   This has been a tight frame, stuck at 8-5 for a while. Joe Perry goes for a red in the middle pocket... It bounces right back at him! He looks gutted! DOTT makes his worse by executing a textbook long pot into the far corner.
  • 1-2   Joe PERRY, or 'The Cambridgeshire Cat' as no one is calling him, cliches the frame and takes the lead.
  • 1-1   PERRY was the man to break into the tight cluster of reds this frame, and is reaping the benefits as he marches into a commanding lead of 61-1.
  • 1-1   We join the action just as PERRY takes the second frame to make it 1-1, and now he breaks off in the third.
  • 0-0   Welcome to eurosport.yahoo.com's LIVE coverage of Graeme DOTT v Joe PERRY in the first round of the World Championships! 2006 champion and current world number two dott will be hoping for a better showing than last year, when he lost to Ian McCULLOCH in the opening round. Joe PERRY has yet to really make his mark on this tournament, reaching the quarter-finals once, back in 2004.
