  • 8-10   BUT BINGHAM GETS THE LAST RED AND HAS WON THE MATCH - a great match has come to an end. Let's hope it is not the last time we see Steve Davis at the Crucible.
  • 8-9   A break of 59 puts BINGHAM 64-15 up with just one red left. DAVIS needs four snookers.
  • 8-9   This looks all over - BINGHAM building a great break here.
  • 8-9   DAVIS with a chance to build an early break but then misses an easy red on just 14.
  • 8-9   DAVIS gets the pink after an epic safety exchange - but then misses a tough black down the cushion and leaves it on for BINGHAM to take a dramatic frame.
  • 8-8   DAVIS looks like he is going to take the frame but he overcooks the blue. 54-59 down and he has a really tough pot on the pink. He pots it but OH NO the white ball drops in too. BINGHAM leads 54-65 now but both pink and black are still on the table.
  • 8-8   Tense frame this - BINGHAM now leads 54-40 with one red left.
  • 8-8   DAVIS builds up to a 40-25 lead before playing safe.
  • 8-8   BINGHAM breaks to 25 but we are now in a safety exchange. 16-25 is the score.
  • 8-8   DAVIS goes 16-0 up but then misses an easy red - nervy shot that.
  • 8-8   AND WE ARE LEVEL - DAVIS gets the points he needs - now it is a case of best-of-three for the match. FIVE in a row for Davis.
  • 7-8   The break ends on 67 before DAVIS puts a great safety in behind a brown.
  • 7-8   DAVIS is turing back the clock here - he is building another big break and we could soon be level.
  • 7-8   Just one frame in it now as DAVIS clears up for a half century and he is really the in-form player now. FOUR FRAMES IN A ROW !!
  • 6-8   BINGHAM misses a black when it started to look like he was going to take the frame. 33-31 DAVIS and he is now at the table.
  • 6-8   LONG TIME since BINGHAM has even made a pot - DAVIS in control of this frame too - 33-0 up and at the table but OHHH he has just missed a red into the corner. And BINGHAM makes his first red in over 45 minutes.
  • 6-8   DAVIS looks a new man out there. A break of 81 delights the crowd again and he is now just two frames behind. BINGHAM must be feeling the pressure now.
  • 5-8   Another frame for Davis before the interval as he gets a break of 68 - his highest of the match so far and he has found himself right back in this match.
  • 4-8   Better stuff from Davis now - he leads this frame 32-4 after another little mini-break.
  • 4-8   Great roar from the crowd as DAVIS gets in for a 65 clearance so Davis will bring the game to a mid-table interval at the very least.
  • 3-8   Break of 35 for DAVIS gives him a 40-0 lead but he misses an easy red and lets BINGHAM in. The younger man responds with a break 31 and we have a tight frame here.
  • 3-8   Davis concedes the frame after leaving the green on and BINGHAM needs just two more frames to win the match.
  • 3-7   DAVIS pots the black off the table while trying to find position on the yellow and he is now 31-65 down and needs snookers.
  • 3-7   BINGHAM misses a pink while trying to build a break. The cue-ball at least goes safe - 25-24 Davis.
  • 3-7   DAVIS has got an early lead of 25-1 in this frame as we enter a safety exchange.
  • 3-7   Both players miss half chances early in the frame but then Davis lets BINGHAM in for a frame-winning break of 67 and you feel the six-time champion is really on the brink now.
  • 3-6   We could have a stalemate here - both players playing a bit of tippy-tappy in a cluster of reds with Davis leading 25-21 and the players do indeed call a re-rack.
  • 3-6   BINGHAM misses a red while on a break of 21 but Davis can't pot the loose red. However, then Bingham misses a tight cut and DAVIS could be back in again.
  • 3-6   And Bingham gets us underway...
  •   Evening folks - welcome back to this first round clash. It is time for the evening session - can Steve Davis pull it back? Stay logged on to find out.
  • 3-6   BINGHAM goes into the interval three ahead. It's been scrappy stuff, but DAVIS has only himself to blame for trying that crazy three-ball plant.
  • 3-5   Ooh la-la. DAVIS goes for a three-ball "Robert" and misses. That was risque to the extreme, and BINGHAM has a great chance to go 6-3 ahead.
  • 3-5   BINGHAM gets in first, and leads 40-1. The reds are bunched like grapes though and this frame could linger on for a while.
  • 3-5   BINGHAM comes straight back at DAVIS. A lovely break of 58 takes his lead back to two. One frame to go before we end the first session. Whatever happens DAVIS will go into lunch behind, but at least he's in touch.
  • 3-4   DAVIS kills off the frame and brings it back to 4-3.
  • 2-4   Another tight frame this one. DAVIS leads 58-29 with 25 left on the table. He bags the green. 61-29. GCSE maths is enough to decipher snookers are needed.
  • 2-4   BINGHAM wraps up a scratchy frame with a decisive break to lead 4-2.
  • 2-3   DAVIS misses a difficult red to the bottom left and his break ends at 21. BINGHAM follows up with a decent safety.
  • 2-3   BINGHAM gets in early, but he can't close out the frame. DAVIS now has a chance, trailing 48-4 with the balls nicely positioned.
  • 2-3   DAVIS gets within a frame with a break of 57. Good stuff from DAVIS, who has a cheeky grin on his face. He's enjoying this and well he might.
  • 1-3   They've nipped off for a quick biscuit and a cup of tea in Sheffield. DAVIS will be mightily relieved to have bagged that last frame. GAME ON.
  • 1-3   Davis wallops in the pink and he's on the board! Good stuff.
  • 0-3   BINGHAM bags the blue, DAVIS misses the pink and leaves it hovering over the pocket.
  • 0-3   DAVIS has a 48-29 lead, with blue, pink and black left on the table. By my maths I make the deficit 19 - so BINGHAM requires one snooker.
  • 0-3   DAVIS had another chance there, but he missed a pink to the middle. BINGHAM is in, trailing 43-10, but with plenty of balls left to take the frame.
  • 0-3   OH YES!!! Who said Steve DAVIS was boring? The six-times world champion just played an American pool swerve shot to manouevre around the black and strike a red.
  • 0-3   A neat half-century from BINGHAM takes him into a 3-0 lead. DAVIS looks a little stunned.
  • 0-2   BINGHAM goes ahead early, but leaves DAVIS with a wonderful chance...which he misses.
  • 0-2   BINGHAM has the initiative in frame three. A georgeous blue into the middle takes him into the world and red and black. But a bad positional shot may mean he opts for a safety.
  • 0-2   BINGHAM wraps up the second frame with a nice break, to lead 2-0.
  • 0-1   Oooohhh, bad miss from DAVIS with a red to the middle pocket. BINGHAM can't get in though, so he leaves the cue ball tucked tightly behind the yellow in balk.
  • 0-1   It's hardly arresting stuff here. 16-0 to BINGHAM, safety shots a plenty.
  • 0-1   Bingham finishes neatly and goes ahead. A disjointed frame that, with both players looking in need of a coffee.
  • 0-0   BINGHAM sinks a red and is presented with a great chance to wrap up the frame. A blue leaves him a red and a colour away from 1-0.
  • 0-0   Lovely pot from DAVIS, but his follow-up black wobbles in the jaws of the pocket and comes out. Neither player seems able to take the early initiative here.
  • 0-0   BINGHAM ahead 45-19 in the opening frame, as the players exchange a slew of safety shots.
  • 0-0   Welcome to eurosport.yahoo.com's LIVE!! coverage of Steve Davis against Stuart Bingham at the World Championships in Sheffield. Cagey start by both players to the opening frame. We're still without a pot.
