  • 8-10   Mark King has done it! He's knocked out the Masters and Welsh Open champion in the first round! Be sure to join us again this afternoon when he have WILLIAMS v DOTT and DAVIS v PERRY to look forward to. See you then!
  • 8-9   A tricky pot along the back cushion sets KING up to rattle in another black, and he has every chance of clearing from this position.
  • 8-9   Mark KING is not ready to see his lead evaporate yet, and picks up where SELBY left off in working round the pack. A blue sees hime take the lead 28-23.
  • 8-9   Another unforgiving break from KING but Selby picks off a couple of rogue reds to go 16 up. At 23-0, a perfectly-pitched shto clips the pack and breaks of another few reds for SELBY to attack.
  • 8-9   KING is frustrating SELBY, but leaves the blue open for him from the centre of the table, but SELBY misses! KING tries to nudge the blue round the pink, but knocks them togehter to clear the path for SELBY to take the frame! What a finish we have here!
  • 7-9   SELBY pulls into a 48-27 lead, with just the blue, pink and black left on the table! He does well to reach the blue hidden behind the black with the rest, but KING can just go for another snooker.
  • 7-9   SELBY is at the table, and cuts a red into the corner to level the frame at 27-27, but the cue ball kicked on and he'll have to make do with the green. KING tries and ambitious shot on a red with the rest, but it doesn't come off and SELBY's fight for survival gets a boost.
  • 7-9   KING tries a safety shot off the cushion and the red takes a knock and goes in! KING fails to push on from there though. Those are the kind of incients that can win and lose matches.
  • 7-9   KING takes over two minutes before lining up to pot a red... but it was worth every second as he's off and running now. SELBY comes back to the table 22-9 up, and leaves on the same score.
  • 7-9   KING is having a frustrating time at the table in this frame. SELBY has given two chances to get some points up on the board but he is yet to pot in this frame.
  • 7-9   A long yellow well taken gives SELBY the initiative in this frame. He leaves Mark KING behind the yellow, and his opponent goes for a rest break to consider his next move.
  • 7-9   SELBY goes for a a powerful red this rebounds wildly, sending another up the table. KING doesn't sink it and SELBY gets a let-off, and is able to pot into the top corner with the rest.
  • 7-9   KING knocks in a great black that sets him up for a red in middle pocket. That and another black puts him 76-17 up. He cleans up for a break of 107 to come within one frame of knocking SELBY out!
  • 7-8   A solid long pot on a red form SELBY and he rolls over the attack the black down the cushion. At 17-0 up he misses the most elementary of blacks! He looks furious with himslef as he sits back down. The reds have split nicely and if KING can capitalise then he'll put an end to this SELBY comeback.
  • 7-8   A break of 108 puts the Masters champion right back in this match! SELBY has been a different man since the break.
  • 6-8   Mark SELBY is really starting to open up now, and it's KING's turn to get nowhere near the table.SELBY rattles home a black to go 64-4 with 59 remaining on tha table.
  • 6-8   KING is unfortunate as his cue ball strikes the brown as he aims to hide it up the table, allowing the long pot from SELBY, who delivers emphatically.
  • 6-8   Another intriguing battle of snookers now, with SELBY going up the table and KING setting the balls dead on the cushion. SELBY finally gets the better of KING to secure his first frame of the day, but he remains two behind with time running out.
  • 5-8   SELBY reliquishes the table 75-5 up, but there are still reds left for KING to have a go at. He pots two plus colours, but then fluffs an easy one down the cushion. SELBY has now smuggled the last two behind the black.
  • 5-8   SELBY looks a different man now, and he's gliding round the table with ease, working around the black to take a 53-4 lead.
  • 5-8   They're back in action on Table 2, and Mark SELBY has a mountain to climb. KING is left snookered behind the yellow, and misses the red after going off three cushions.
  • 5-8   SELBY has a lot of thinking to do during the mid-session interval.
  • 5-8   KING wins the tussle over the final red and finishes off the frame to open up a three-frame lead!
  • 5-7   It's hard for KING to get shot of this final red, and now SELBY has put it on the back cushion, along with the pink and black. They are playing each other up and down the table trying to force the error, but neither is budging at the moment.
  • 5-7   At 16-26, KING sinks a black that could see him pull away in this frame. The spread of reds is not kind though, and SELBY is back on . He fails to make an impact, and KING is now 51 points ahead.
  • 5-7   KING sees his long red rattle off the jaws of the corner pocket and out, leaving SELBY to to mop up. He canons off the pack to pot the pink, but it hasn't opened up too much for him.
  • 5-7   KING takes the frame with SELBY getting just a point n the board! The Masters champion is staring first-round elimination in the face!
  • 5-6   Things are going very wrong for Mark SELBY, he just can't get on the table at the moment. King is 58-1 up and is taking on some challenging shots with confidence.
  • 5-6   SELBY finally opens the scoring in this frame, but a touching red forces him to play a snooker up the table. The reds have spread treacherously out to the left of the black, forcing both men to keep the cue up at the far end.
  • 5-6   SELBY also struggles with the lie of the final three reds, and misses. KING cleans up to tkae the lead to lead for the first time in this match!
  • 5-5   KING works round the blue to pick of the reds that strayed that far up the table. He's on a break of 73 as he canons into the last three reds, all clustered around the black, but can't pot.
  • 5-5   KING is on the colours, which a spread in a tricky order. He cuts a wonderful green into the middle pocket and goes on to take the frame, levelling the match.
  • 5-4   KING picks off all the reds around the black and goes ahead in the frame. He leaves himself stuck behind a pink though, but SELBY can't capitalise.
  • 5-4   SELBY is the first to score, and has a break of 41. He looks set to clear but misses a red to the bottom-right pocket and this is a real chance for KING to nick the frame.
  • 5-4   Good morning! We are back under way at the Crucible and straight into action with Marks SELBY and KING in action.
  • 5-4   Poor shot on the blue from KING and that lets Mark Selby take the final frame as he pots blue and pink. The players will return tomorrow.
  • 4-4   SELBY with a break of 38 up to the blue and he now leads 59-57.
  • 4-4   Interesting frame developing here - it started when KING ended up potting the blue off his break off. SELBY enjoyed a 21-0 lead but then KING was let in for a break of 55 - he then missed a black but luckily saw the cue ball rest behind the pink which was in the blue spot - King leading 57-21.
  • 4-4   KING levels once more - a break of 55 proved key although a misses pink almost put Selby back in. Selby couldn't take advantage though and King took the frame on a return visit.
  • 4-3   A break of 76 from SELBY sees him take the lead once again as this match continues to go to-and-fro.
  • 3-3   KING pulls it back to 3-3 with a nice break of 112.
  • 3-2   SELBY will a nice half-century break to go ahead 3-2. This is VERY VERY slow snooker. Both players are taking their time over shots.
  • 2-2   And KING seals the frame to level the match at 2-2! The pair retire for a packet of crisps and a bottle of pop - or whatever it is that snooker players take on in the intervals.
  • 2-1   Interesting stuff. No breakthrough yet, with three balls on the table and KING still needing snookers.
  • 2-1   KING has pulled himself back into contention in this frame. He leads 58-35 with just blue, pink and black left on the table. SELBY needs snookers.
  • 2-1   SELBY goes ahead 2-1 with a subdued frame in which neither player got going.
  • 1-1   Cagey stuff. Both players are desperate to avoid a mistake, but KING cracks first. SLEBY has red to the middle, which he buries emphatically.
  • 1-1   KING leads 60-46 and tucks SELBY up behind the black with his break over. It's a solid safety, but not quite tight enough to leave SELBY without an exit strategy.
  • 1-1   KING draws the match level with a clinical finish to a tense frame. This is great snooker so far.
  • 1-0   SELBY at the table in the second frame, all square at 38-38. He has a great chance to go two ahead. The only thing in his way is a single red tight against the cushion.
  • 1-0   SELBY takes the first frame with a nice half-century break.
  • 0-0   KING with the early running, and he gets himself 47-0 ahead. There's plenty of balls left on the table, though, and this frame is far from over.
