- 10-9 THERE IT IS! CARTER IS THROUGH! Ali had a 28-0 lead, although Hawkins hit back with 42...before he missed a red played with too much pace along the rail...Ali steps in to keep his nerve and win it on the colours!
- 9-9 Carter has a 28-0 lead, but the reds are gradually being knocked safe...this has all the makings of another long, tense frame...
- 9-9 Carter and Hawkins are back for their final-frame shootout...this match has been incredibly tense and scrappy throughout...which player has the nerves to get over the line?

- 7-4 Carter strangely decides to concede the frame after missing a red into the corner...despite being mathmatically able to win...World Snooker will be interested in that...Carter doesn't look too disheartened...
- 7-3 Hawkins wastes two decent chances to kill off the frame as he opens at 47-0 lead...Carter comes to the table, although the pink and black are out of commission somewhat...
- 7-3 A thunderous kick on the final brown hands Carter a very easy frame-ball shot..a real sickener for Hawkins, who had held on to Carter throughout a very stodgy opening frame...

- 3-0 After a long bout of errors and tactical play, Hawkins clears with 33 to clinch the frame from under the nose of Carter, who is now down 3-0.
- 2-0 Carter reaches 48 with his first points of the match...until he runs out of position after going into the pack...however, he takes on a firm double into the middle...which he gets, to continue the break...
- 2-0 Hawkins' break ends at 71...Carter considers playing on, but then thinks better of it and concedes.
