- 5-10 THERE IT IS! LIANG DOES IT! The youngster gets enough points to get over the line...the Chinese revolution goes on!

- 5-9 Doherty gets a kick to halt a very promising break...but Liang can't take advantage, and the Dubliner pulls another frame back...
- 4-9 Ken gets a frame back with a break of 69 in the 13th...comeback seems a long way away...
- 3-9 The players are out after their interval...can Liang finish it off, or can Ken make a game of it still?
- 3-9 ...Ken goes in-off! Attempting to lay the cue-ball on the cushion and send the white up the table, Ken sends the white in the corner pocket, handing the frame to the youngster! A 37-minute frame, and Liang is just one away from the next round!
- 3-8 ...instead of laying a snooker, Liang attempts to take on a difficult free-ball blue...he jaws it...Ken clears up to force a re-spotted black!
- 3-8 ...After a 12-minute spell of safety on the green, Ken misses an attempt to get out of a snooker, leaving Liang a simple green...he can't get position on the brown though...more safety...
- 3-8 Liang makes 55 before jawing a red...fortunately for the young Chinese player, he leaves Ken nothing...
- 3-8 Liang concedes after a bout of safety, realising that he was going to struggle to get the two snookers he needed to win the frame against a player as good as Doherty...
- 2-8 Doherty makes 28 before running out of position...he doesn't quite look on his game in the early part of this session...
- 2-8 That is a real body-blow to Ken...his top 16 place is really under threat now...he needs to win this match to stay in the elite, or else he faces a season in the qualifiers at Pontins...
- 2-8 Ken sneaks into the lead with yellow and green...but he over-cuts the brown into the corner to give Liang another chance...which he takes with brown, blue and pink!
- 2-7 Liang makes 56 to move 16 points ahead of Ken, before he misses a difficult last red, cut into the corner...tight opener, this one...
- 2-7 The players are out, the introductions are over, and the breaks have been made...
- - Hi there; welcome to our coverage of the second and concluding session of this match; will former champ Doherty be able to dig himself out of this rather ugly hole?
- 2-7 WENBO gets in again and builds a lovely break of 95. The frame is his and he'll take a 7-2 lead into the evening session. What a performance from the 21-year-old. We'll be back from 19:00 (BST).
- 2-6 DOHERTY looked for all the world to be running away with the frame, before an error let WENBO in. WENBO can't capitilise.
- 2-6 WENBO with ANOTHER fine break and he fairly romps away to go 6-2 ahead.
- 2-5 There it is, 5-2 to WENBO. Two more frames to go before the session ends. DOHERTY needs to win both BADLY.
- 2-4 WENBO is 35 ahead with 43 remaining. This would be quite a shock if he won here. DOHERTY will have an afternoon of sombre contemplation ahead of the evening session.
- 2-4 A miss from WENBO, and DOHERTY pulls it back to 4-2. Far from vintage stuff, but the Irishman is hanging in there.
- 1-4 DOHERTY leads 51-25 and he should see out the frame here. There's one troublesome red to negotiate - tucked tightly behind the pink.
- 1-4 Tight opening to frame six. WENBO leads 4-1 and is at the table with all but two of the reds bunched in break position.WHAT A SHOT!!! He sends one to the top...BUT NO, the cue ball is in the middle.
- 1-4 And WENBO goes three frames ahead! On his first World Championships appearance he could knock out the former champion here. DOHERTY looks more miserable by the frame.
- 1-3 WENBO is 55-29 behind, but he's at the table. He sinks a deft brown and has two reds and the colours left to go three ahead.
- 1-3 WENBO gets a chance, and goes two frames ahead with a clinical finish. Time for a mid-session interval.
- 1-2 Cagey start to frame four. The reds are spread wildly around the table and both players are fearful of leaving a potentially frame winning opening.
- 1-2 WENBO lead 2-1 after a lovely break of 77, punctuated by long pots and nice touch play. DOHERTY could be in for a bumpy ride here against the World Championships debutant.
- 1-1 Glorious long pot from WENBO. He's got some work to do, however, with five reds clustered tightly together around the pink.
- 1-1 Oh yes, everybody likes a nice plant and Doherty sinks a neat one to give himself the first chance of the frame.
- 1-1 All square. WENBO needed a couple of chances, but he eventually sealed the frame with a tidy break.
- 1-0 WENBO's away in the second frame. The Chinese left-hander makes a slight positional error, however, and is forced to play safe. He leads 65-0.
- 1-0 Mistake from WENBO, and DOHERTY leaps at the chance to wrap up the opener. WENBO let him off the hook there.
- 0-0 Interesting. DOHERTY with a miss and WENBO is at the table. He can still catch him here, and moves smartly to 32...
- 0-0 The half-century arrives and the Irishman is racing away with the opening frame. WENBO looks miserable watching on.
- 0-0 DOHERTY with the first pot, and he looks in good knick as he begins building a potentially frame winning early break.
