- 5-0 Oh dear - Joe Perry will just have to write this off as a bad day at the office. At 45-43 down Perry was building a break and looked set to clear up but he then missed the final red. He leaves it on and Murphy clears up to book a mouth-watering semi-final date with Ronnie O'Sullivan.
- 4-0 One way traffic in this first session - another break of 84 from Murphy who is just CRUSHING Perry. They get to have a cup of tea now but when they come back Murphy will be just one frame away.
- 3-0 A super break of 108 continues the one way traffic - Perry got in early and was up to 20 before making a mistake and Murphy punished him ruthlessly.
- 2-0 Murphy with his second half century of the match - a 66 - added to a 23 earlier in the frame sees him go 2-0 up with ease and he looks to be in charge already.
- 1-0 Murphy dominates the first frame taking it 72-0. He puts a little bit of change on the board early and then builds a decent break which is enough for him to take the first frame.
