 Comments
  • 23:58   Woods comfortably holes his par putt to finish two shots ahead of Woody Austin at -8 for his 13th major victory!
  • 23:53   Woods lengthy birdie putt misses by just inches much to the dismay of the crowd!!
  • 23:50   Tiger gets a big cheer as he walks down the fairway and on to the green of the 18th with a two shot lead
  • 23:43   Austin makes a great attempt at a 20 foot birdie putt on the 18th but, while he has the length, he doesn't quite have the direction and the ball trickles past the hole. A very brave run from Austin but Woods would need to double bogey the last not to win this Championships now
  • 23:41   Woods two putts for par at the 17th to maintain his two shot lead over Austin with one hole remaining
  • 23:35   Els completes his round of 66 with a par on the 18th to take the clubhouse lead but three shots back from Woods' -8 lead
  • 23:34   Austin holes from 10 feet out to pick up another birdie and put himself within two of Woods
  • 23:24   Els makes a brave attempt at a birdie on the 17th but its whizzs past and he had to be content with par - surely his title push is over as he sits three off the pace with only one left to play?
  • 23:19   Austin's birdie putt at the 16th runs just long but he keeps his nerve to hole for par and stays with two of Tiger
  • 23:15   Woods makes a 12 foot birdie putt at the 15th to extend his lead back up to two at -7
  • 23:09   Els makes a costly bogey on 16 and drops back to -5 and out of joint second
  • 23:07   Meanwhile Austin has a chance to take the joint lead with a birdie putt at 15 but it just trickles by and he stays one behind Tiger
  • 23:05   Woods three putts at the 14th rolling the ball around the lip of the hole to drop a shot
  • 22:49   Just PARt of the job m'am. Woods pars 13, Austin pars 14 and Els pars 15.
  • 22:45   Woods reminds the world why he's number one. his bunker shot so so nearly drops and he taps in for a par. But on this hole Woods will feel like that's a dropped shot.
  • 22:43   This could be the turning point ladies and gents. Woods has just put a simple wedge into the back bunker on the 13th - and he's already wasted a shot chipping out of the trees.
  • 22:42   Good tee shot from Ernie on the 15th runs right down the centre of the fairway.
  • 22:39   Again Woods is forced to hack it out of touble on the 13th but he won't be panicking on the easily ealglable par five - he could yet grab a birdie.
  • 22:38   Austin is hot on his heels and will tap in for a straight forward birdie on 13. Austin also up to -6.
  • 22:37   Els for birdie.... oh yeah, no mistakles this time and Els sails to -6.
  • 22:36   And Woods is unhappy with another drive. He's found the trees with his three-wood on the 13th.
  • 22:32   Woods gets a par on the 12th and Els has just dropped his tee shot on the par three 14th very very very close. Almost a certain birdie for Ernie - but would he put his house on it?
  • 22:31   Ernie leaves his eagle putt inches short but will tap in for a birdie taking him to -5.
  • 22:26   But never write off Ernie Els. The big South African has a putt for an eagle on the par five 13th!
  • 22:24   There's a new challenger in the midst. Woody Austin registers bac-to-back birdies to lear to -5 and take sole charge of second place.
  • 22:16   The tale of missed putts... Ernie misses his par and Woods misses a birdie putt but the margain has grown and woods is now four shots ahead.
  • 22:11   Ernie's bunker shot leaves a nasty little blighter for par.
  • 22:08   A safe par from Woods on the 10th. Ernie shoots over the back of the 12th green into a bunker and Woody Austin mouts a challenge with a long putt for birdie on the 11th.
  • 22:05   Hells bEls. Ernie puts his drive in a nasty looking bit of rough. He'll know that a bogey is not even an option here if he's going to catch the Tiger.
  • 22:00   Els fails with his birdie putt, pulling it left. He stays on -5, three behind Woods.
  • 21:59   Woods out in 34 with three birdies and two bogies.
  • 21:57   Woods bogies the nineth and drops to -8 - his putt was never on line this time. If Els can drop in his birdie putt on the 11th then he's cut Woods' lead to just 2 shots.
  • 21:55   Ames finishes the opening nine with another disappointing bogey. The Ozzy's down to -1.
  • 21:55   Big sweaty John Daly finishes with a 73.
  • 21:53   Ohhhhh suits you sir. What a beauty. Els lands his tee shot close on the par three 11th. Come on Ernie...
  • 21:52   DO NOT LOOK AWAY.... Woods leaves himself a very tricky putt to save par while again Ernie presses, he sinks his putt and hop skip and jumps to -5. This is getting quite exciting.
  • 21:50   A massive hack form the rough by Woods as he tries to chase one up the fairway..... and Els has popped his second to the par four 10th to within a couple of feet.
  • 21:45   But, good news for Els fans, Woods iron off the tee on the tenth misses the fairway and creeps into the Southern Hills rough stuff.
  • 21:43   Unbelievable from Woods! A massive left to right putt on nine from OFF the green sails into the centre of the hole. He likes it, he likes it a lot!
  • 21:42   An aggressive drive from Els on 10 as he hammers a drive over the trees to within about 20 yards of the green.
  • 21:36   And Ernie responds with a scorching lay-up on the 9th.... but he drags the putt left. A decent -3 par 32 nonetheless from Els.
  • 21:34   Woods issues a "come and get me big man" to Ernie Els sliding in a birdie on the seventh to move to -8.
  • 21:25   He's on Tigers tail... just thought of that one... a little late maybe!!
  • 21:22   Ernie pops it in for birdie on the eighth!! Els in now officially on the march...
  • 21:17   If anyone's going to take Woods all the way it sure as dammit won't be Ames who's in need of cuppa and a calm down. Els though has just narrowly missed out on another birdie and he's put his tee shot in the cente of the par 3 eighth. Another birdie would put Ernie just 3 shots behind the Tiger!
  • 21:15   Ames needs a psychologist out there - unbelievably he takes on the pin on six like an axe wielding maniac! Luckily for him he's hit the bunker.
  • 21:14   Tiger not tempted to go for the dangerous "go on I dare you" pin on the par three sixth and plonks it in the middle of the green.
  • 21:12   Well wasn't that predictable - Ames misses his par putt and he's down to -2 already.
  • 21:11   England's Ian Poulter sinks a monster putt for birdie on the 17th to move to +2!
  • 21:09   Ames with achance to put the pressure on Woods with a long putt for a birdie on the fifth.... but stuffs it up big time leaving a very tricky "i'm glad i'm not in your shoes" four-footer for par.
  • 21:07   Woods plays a majestic bunker shot on the fifth and leaves himself a tiddler to save par.
  • 20:57   But wait... is that another hooked tee shot from Woods? Into the trees? With an iron? (yes it is)
  • 20:53   Any chances of The Unfazable being fazed have been swiftly dispelled as Woods birdies the fourth to spring back to -7.
  • 20:50   It's another birdie for Ernie Els on the fifth - he's up to -3 and must be now letting little thoughts creep in about a win here at Southern Hills, he's certainly on the charge!
  • 20:30   There's another goddammit from Woods on the third tee as another tee shot goes off target. Ames settles his nerves to splash one down the centre.
  • 20:29   And it is indeed a bogey for Woods while Woody Austin slides in a birdie... game on?
  • 20:25   It really is hot hot hot out on the course today, even super-fit Tiger is towelling himself down at every possibility. John Daly's caddy will be thanking his lucky stars that his empolyer won't be expecting a congtatulatory hug on the 18th... yuk.
  • 20:24   Justin Rose turns around his bogey on the eighth with a birdie on the nineth.
  • 20:20   Els birdies the third to moves to -2 just 5 shots off Woods who has had to chip out from the trees and he's out the back of the green - he'll have to chip in for par. Don't go putting your house on a Woods win just yet Ernie!
  • 20:18   A reversal of fortunes on the second tee as Woods finds the tree's with his drive! The crowd cheer "get in the hole" - either they're drunk or goddam jerks!
  • 20:13   Woods makes a solid par on the first and Ames has dropped a shot already after bogeying the opener.
  • 20:06   Woods hits an 8 iron into the par 4 first and he's safely on the green while Ames can only hack onto the fairway.
  • 20:02   Ames on the other hand bites his lip hard as he watches his drive fly into the trees. Think Woods may have the psychological advantage on this one...
  • 20:00   The leader tee's off with an iron straight down the middle... what more would we expect??
  • 19:55   Tiger Woods heads for the tee with today's playing partner, second placed Stephen Ames.
  • 19:20   Simon Dyson has popped in a birdie at the last for a cracking round of six under par 64, which moves him up to level par and will guarantee he takes a nice big cheque back to Blighty!
  • 19:15   Woods is looking for his 13th Major and after a quiet, majorless year he looks almost certain to clinch this one with the bookies offering a Woods win at 1/40(!) and even Ernie Els admitting that if his name were Joe Bloggs he'd put his house on Woods - well you'd have to with those odds!
  • 19:10   Follow the decisive action LIVE right here with eurosport.yahoo.com as the 89th PGA Championship and and final Major of 2007 unfolds with some bloke called Tiger Woods in pole position.
  • 19:00   Welocme, welcome to this the FINAL round of the US PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa. It's another scorcher with temperatures well in to the hundresds! The leaders are yet to tee off but much golf has already been played today with Englishman Simosn Dyson in inspired form, currently -6 par after 16 holes he's up to +1 overall and tied for 13th.
