  • 18:30   EAGLE FOR HARRINGTON AND IT'S AS GOOD AS OVER NOW!!! Norman takes par and he'll need birdie at the last to tie for second. On they go to 18, where both hit fine drives. Harrington's approach is a ripsnorter and he collects a comfortable par to triumph as the 137TH OPEN CHAMPION!!!! Norman misses his par putt and takes a bogey to tie for third with Henrik Stenson. THAT'S IT FOLKS!! Thanks for joining me, see you back here for the USPGA!!
  • 18:15   To 17 go the main attraction. Both hit fine drives. The Shark will be looking an at eagle-birdie finish to make up the three-shot deficit. UNBELIEVABLE SHOT FROM HARRINGTON!!! He sends fairway wood from 270 yards to within 10 feet of the cup. Norman's is wide right and this championship is surely heading to the emerald isle.
  • 18:00   Norman makes birdie to move to eight over. Harrington next, and he sinks his too to get to five over and now holds a TWO SHOT LEAD OVER POULTER.
  • 17:50   Poulter shows fine nerve to sink a testing par putt at 18 and get in the clubhouse at seven over par. What a round of 69 from the brightly-clad one. Back to the 15th, where Harrington and Norman have both crushed huge drives to within range on the par five. The Shark finds sand front left, but Padraig reaches the green and has a really good chance of birdie. Norman's bunker shot is a BEAUTY!!
  • 17:45   Poulter at 18, with 190 yards to the pin and the most important shot of his career before him...seven iron it is and he leaves it VERY VERY SHORT. What a mistake from Poulter. Norman's Open push is drawing to a close here. He finds the sand at 14 and his escape leaves a nasty putt for par...BUT WAIT, WHAT A PUTT!!! HE STAYS ALIVE, JUST. Harrington has a chance for birdie. Super effort, and he'll collect a comfortable par to maintain his lead.
  • 17:30   Harrington finds the fairway at 13 and sends a lovely approach to about 20 feet. Back to Poulter at 17, and he leaves his eagle putt shorter than he would have liked and misses his birdie to take par. Norman is in real trouble, having found the bunker. He's played four already and have tricky putt for bogey...he gets it. HARRINGTON BIRDIES!!! The Irishman now has the outright lead, by a shot from Poulter.
  • 17:15   POULTER BIRDIES 16 AND MOVES INTO A TIE FOR THE LEAD WITH HARRINGTON...He's at 17 now and going for the green in two and he gets there. What a chance for the Englishman here. Meanwhile, Norman - who bogeyed 12 - finds the sand at 13 and his hopes are fading fast. Kim at 15, and he putts from well off the green and will struggle to make par.
  • 17:00   Poulter finds another fairway at 16. He really is swinging beautifully. Harrington with a long birdie putt at 11, and he shows lovely touch to get within a couple of feet. Both he and Stormin' take par and head to 12.
  • 16:45   The Shark's drive at 10 is wildly left, as is Harrington's. Somehow, both achieve decent lies and will go for the green. Norman tries to play a low hook, and pulls it into the spectators. His third leaves a testing putt for par. Harrington finds the green and will have a birdie chance...he misses it to the right. BUT NORMAN TAKES BOGEY AND THEY'RE BACK LEVEL AT SEVEN OVER.
  • 16:30   Norman's birdie putt pulls up five feet shy. Harrington next, for par...WIDE LEFT!! The Shark now has a putt for the lead...IN SHE GOES. Poulter misses his birdie chance at 13, but finds the green with a nice tee shot at 14. He remains just two shots behind.
  • 16:30   Poulter takes his par and is now JUST TWO SHOTS OFF THE LEAD. He moves on to 13 and cracks a stunning seven iron close for another birdie chance. It's the beastly sixth for the main attraction next, and both are wayward off the tee. Harrington hacks his second out, and he's through the green with a seriously difficult up-and-down. Norman finds the green with a conservative effort.
  • 16:15   POULTER BIRDIES 11, but misses the green at the par-three 12th. His chip back is left wanting. Wakefield at nine, and he hits a lovely wedge to 15 or 20 feet. Norman sent his drive left on the eighth, but his lie is reasonable and he'll go at the green...LOVELY SHOT. Harington has a birdie opportunity, but it drifts wide. Norman strikes a nice putt, but Harrington misses. IT'S ALL SQUARE AT SIX OVER.
  • 16:00   Harrington off target at the par-three seventh and he pitches to about eight foot from the rough. Poulter plays a ripsnorter at 11 to leave him a chance at birdie. Back to The Shark, who's just off the green...he gets a little closer. Padraig first...HE MISSES. Norman can pull one back if he sinks this...IN SHES GOES AND THE GAP IS BACK TO ONE.
  • 15:45   Norman goes with driver at five, and the wind takes his ball into the heavy rough on the left. He hacks out and need to get close with his third for a chance at par...but he comes up short. Harrington's ball lies alongside, but he's there in two and his third is a beauty. The defending champion takes par, but Norman drops another to trail by two shots. Wood makes a solid par at 10 to stay at seven over.
  • 15:30   Poulter birdies nine to get to nine over. Not out of it yet.
  • 15:30   WOOD HITS AN ABSOLUTE HUMDINGER AT NINE AND WILL TAKE BIRDIE TO MOVE TO SEVEN OVER. What a championship the amatuer is having. The two big guns arrive at the fifth green. Harrington's second was long and left, just through the putting surface. Norman is closer, but also just off the green. Harrington first, and he does superbly to get within a few inches. Norman also does well and both take par.
  • 15:15   Garcia gets is at nine over through nine, just five shots behind the leaders. Norman with his third into three, and he'll have a nasty eight-footer for par. Harrington is in the sand, and chips and putts for very solid par. The Irishman is looking extremely poised. All the pressure is on Sharky. Oh dear, another bogey for the Australian and he slips to fiver over. On to the par-three fourth they go and both take par. That will have settled Norman's nerve somewhat. Monty is wrapping up at 18, and missed a tiddler to drop to 18 over with a 76.
  • 15:00   Harrington takes par, but NORMAN BOGEYS and the pair are level going into the third. Shaky start from The Shark. Wakefield bags par at three and is now just two shots off the lead at six over. Fisher has a long putt at for par at three but it slides by and he slips to eight over. Thomas Sherreard, an amatuer, finishes eagle-birdie to post a 14 over total for Chris Wood to better in the race for the silver medal. Wood reacts at seven with birdie to move into a tie for sixth.
  • 15:00   The Shark is wayward at the 421-yard second, but he gets lucky with his lie. He hits a poor second, and is lucky once more to escape bunkers to the left of the green. Harrington looks far more assured in the early stages, and he finds the green with a smooth six iron. Graeme Storm is at five, with a birdie chance...IN SHE GOES. He moves to nine over. Ross Fisher has started with three pars, but his tee shot at the par-three fourth is wayward right.
  • 14:45   Harrington comes up short with his second and has some work to do to save par. WHAT A SHOT!!! He chips to within a couple of inches and par will be his. Norman finds the sand, and gets out awkwardly to leave a long one for par...HITS THE LIP BUT COMES OUT AND HE DROPS ONE. Wakefield plays a lovely approach to the second. He'll have a chance to pull back a dropped shot at one. CASEY SINKS A CHIP AT 15 FOR EAGLE!!!
  • 14:30   HERE WE GO!!! Harrington up first and he takes iron, to get away nicely down the fairway. Now The Shark, who leads at Birkdale by two shots going in this final round. Norman also takes iron. What tension here, as he pulls away to gather himself. It looks good...IN THE FAIRWAY!!!
  • 14:15   Chris Evert is GUSHING, SERIOUSLY GUSHING about her hubbie The Shark as he prepares to set off. Meanwhile, Choi is in the right rough at the first. He takes three wood and comes up short of the green.
  • 14:00   Ben Curtis playing his third at the first...he finds the front of the green and should make bogey. Norman is on the putting green now, running through his routine calmly. KJ Choi walks on to the first tee in the penultimate group, partnered by England's Simon Wakefield.
  • 13:45   Poulter's second at the first...he's short and right. Not a good start. He plays a neat chip to the green, but he's left himself a trick par putt...and it slides by for an opening bogey. Not the start he will have wanted. The Big East at 18 for birdie...not to be. He finishes with a 69, at 12 over for the championship.
  • 13:30   The Shark is on the range and looking his usual relaxed self. Meanwhile, up steps Ian Poulter at number one. What a huge day this could be in his colourful career. Wearing pink trousers and white shirt for today's cameras, he takes an almighty swipe with iron to find the fairway. His partner today is English amatuer Chris Wood, who's performance has been nothing short of remarkable. In a bold move, he takes driver and crashes a beauty.
  • 13:00   Sergio Garcia takes to the first tee. At nine over, he'll need a sizzler in the mid-60s to stand any chance today. He goes bold with a driver and is rewarded with a fine position down the centre of the fairway. Who'd bet against a charge from El Nino, now he has nothing to lose. Joining him is Retief Goosen, who hits a decent one but loses his approach left. Garcia with his second...oh dear, he's gone a long way right and both players will struggle to make par here.
  • 12:45   Casey for a rare birdie at the beastly sixth, but his putt falls left and he'll settle for par. McDowell hits his tee shot at the par-three 12th, and finds the hollow to to the left of the green. Jim Furyk gets under way at the first, taking a rescue club and finding the right rough - from where he'll need rescuing.
  • 12.25   Villegas leaves his long birdie putt on the first three feet shy...and he misses the par-putt to drop back a shot...not a great start for the charasmatic South American...
  • 12.14   Howell on the 18th, putting from just off the green for a 65...leaves it five feet short...and he misses the par-putt...still, he finishes the tournament with a 67 to finish on +12.
  • 12.09   McDowell makes par on 9 to stay at level par...much better scoring conditions today...meanwhile Howell makes his three on 17, an eagle to drop to four-under for the day. Great round from the Howeller.
  • 11.46   A birdie at 15 puts David Howell on -2 for his final round...and a fine second into 17 leaves another birdie chance.
  • 11:33   Proof that great things can still be achieved comes in the form of Thomas Aiken carding a 68 on his final round. The South African finishes a distant 16 over, but the chasing pack which includes Alexander Noren, Ben Curtis, Anthony Kim and Ross Fisher - all currently seven over - will be buoyed by that round.
  • 11:20   Graeme McDowell is going good guns at the moment. He's one under after four holes.
  • 11:13   Brendan Jones, winner at last year's Taiheiyo Masters in Japan, is the next man into the clubhouse after shooting a 71, his best round of the tournament. The Australian ends +21.
  • 11:09   Colin Montgomerie strolls out to tee off to a typically warm reception. He has a big smile on his face, possibly because he is high enough up the leaderboard to avoid embarassment, and a good final round could really see him sneak up into a good finishing position.
  • 10:57   Justin Rose finishes his round on 73, and an overall score of +21, something nobody expected just a few short days ago.
  • 10:55   Lam Chih-bing has taken the clubhouse lead - by virtue of being the first man home. Bet you didn't see that coming. Anyway, the man from Singapore ends his Open 31 over.
  • 10:44   Early leader Graeme McDowell has teed off his final round, hitting a par at the first to stay 12 over.
  • 10:29   Choi will be going round with fourth-placed Simon Wakefield this afternoon. The nasty conditions that have characterised this year's Open are still prevailing, but that hasn't stopped Justin Rose registering a birdie at the 15th.
  • 10:25   Great White Greg Norman has the chance to clinch his third Open title today, as he currently holds a two-shot lead over defending champion Padraig Harrington and KJ Choi, and he would become the oldest man ever to win a Major to boot. Norman and Harrington will tee off together at 14:20 UK time.
